In the sylvan realm of Kaziranga, nestled in Assam, the eminent Narendra Modi embarked on a sojourn of both pachydermal and vehicular exploration within the precincts of the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve. This event transpired during the matutinal hours of Saturday, as relayed by an official source. On his inaugural pilgrimage to the hallowed UNESCO World Heritage Site, Modi inaugurated the expedition with an elephantine odyssey in the Mihimukh expanse of the Central Kohora Range within the park. Subsequently, he ventured forth on a jeep odyssey within the very same range.
The entourage accompanying him featured the esteemed park director, Sonali Ghosh, alongside other venerable denizens of the forest hierarchy. His itinerary further included the ceremonial unveiling of the ‘Statue of Valour,’ an awe-inspiring monument standing at an impressive elevation of 125 feet. This monumental effigy pays homage to the legendary Ahom general, Lachit Barphukan, and is poised for inauguration in the city of Jorhat during the ensuing afternoon.
The premier’s sojourn will proceed to Meleng Meteli Pothar, also nestled within the expansive precincts of Jorhat district. Here, he is slated to consecrate and lay the foundation stones for an array of projects, both regional and national, collectively appraised at a staggering Rs 18,000 crore. A public oration is also slated to ensue at the aforementioned venue, underscoring the culmination of this momentous visitation.
