Authorities at the Raja Bhoj International Airport in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh were apprised of a menacing correspondence via electronic mail from an unidentified sender, reportedly containing a bomb threat. Pursuant to this alarming communication, a legal dossier has been initiated against an enigmatic individual at Gandhi Nagar police precinct, following the grievance lodged by the airport’s Principal Security Officer, Vishal Kumar Sharma.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP, Zone 4) Sundar Singh Kanesh, communicated to ANI via telephone, articulated, “The Aviation Governing Body has officially registered a protest, delineating receipt of a bomb threat correspondence, ostensibly alluding to an explosive device clandestinely situated aboard an aircraft, thereby implicating a potential detonation event at the aerodrome.”
In response to this grievance, law enforcement officials registered an official complaint and have commenced an exhaustive inquiry. Subsequent measures will be predicated upon the substantiated facts and findings, he further elaborated. Concurrently, Dabolim airport in Goa also encountered a similar bomb threat conveyed via electronic mail on Monday, precipitating a fortification of security protocols. Nonetheless, air travel operations remained unimpeded.
“We have been the recipients of a written electronic correspondence. Our security apparatus and aviation carriers have been duly alerted. Appropriate measures are being undertaken. At present, there is no prevailing sense of alarm. Flight operations are continuing unhampered. We are executing routine supplementary security evaluations,” remarked Dabolim Airport Director SVT Dhanamjaya Rao.
