In New Delhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rebuffed the onslaught from the Congress regarding the governmental measure of suspending its financial accounts, labeling it as the opposition’s “frantic” endeavor to formulate an excuse for its forthcoming downfall in the Lok Sabha elections. Ravi Shankar Prasad, a prominent figure in the BJP and erstwhile cabinet minister, indicted former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi of disseminating falsehoods on the matter, while also directing criticism towards Sonia Gandhi, contending that both individuals besmirched the reputation of Indian democracy on an international scale with their “reckless” utterances.
Prasad highlighted that the Congress failed to submit its income tax declarations punctually, which resulted in the suspension of its accounts. He noted that the opposition faction did not secure any legal reprieve and has now appealed to the Supreme Court, rebuking Congress officials for their deceptive statements on the subject. Furthermore, he underscored that the Congress faced censure from the high court in connection to this matter.
“We extend our best wishes to the Congress, and our mild counsel to the party is that the more latitude you afford Rahul Gandhi to vocalize, the more footing you forfeit,” remarked Prasad. He added, “If the populace demonstrates reluctance to endorse the Congress, the BJP is impotent in altering that trajectory.”
