In a move akin to the unexpected convergence of celestial bodies, Shekhar Suman, mirroring the political odyssey of Kangana Ranaut, former paramour of his son Adhyayan Suman, aligned himself with the Bhartiya Janata Party during the electoral tumult of the Lok Sabha. The nexus of Kangana Ranaut and Shekhar Suman within the political sphere is now an undeniable reality. The luminary from “Heeramandi” officially pledged allegiance to the Bhartiya Janata Party on a Tuesday, traversing the same path as Kangana Ranaut, erstwhile actor turned political aspirant, contesting from the precincts of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh in the Lok Sabha electoral arena.
Interrogated during his formal induction into the party fold, Shekhar was probed by a journalistic emissary regarding his willingness to canvass on behalf of Kangana in Mandi, notwithstanding their prior discord. Responding with alacrity, he retorted, “Agar bulayengi, kyu nahi jayenge?” (Why would I not heed the call if extended? It’s both incumbent upon me and my prerogative). The dalliance between Kangana and Adhyayan, during the filming saga of “Raaz: The Mystery Continues” circa 2008-09, culminated in a romantic liaison, swiftly disintegrating thereafter, with both Adhyayan and Shekhar attributing the demise to Kangana’s alleged dabbling in occult practices.
In light of these revelations, a plethora of observers were left incredulous at the confluence of Shekhar and Kangana’s trajectories towards the same political enclave. Antecedent to his BJP affiliation, Shekhar endeavored to extend an olive branch to Kangana. His pronouncement underscored, “We are not tethered to any vestige of the past. Neither to familial bonds, nor to Adhyayan. Engaging in retrospection is an exercise in futility. I reckon it was but a transient phase. Such is the nature of existence, transient and ephemeral.”
Shekhar Suman, luminary of both the silver screen and the small screen, formally embraced the Bhartiya Janata Party on a Tuesday, amidst the august presence of party stalwart Vinod Tawde, within the hallowed precincts of the party’s bastion in Delhi. However, his dalliance with the political milieu is not without precedent. Suman contested the parliamentary constituency of Patna Sahib in 2009 under the aegis of the Congress, only to be thwarted by the electoral triumph of Bollywood titan and BJP luminary Shatrughan Sinha.
On the vocational front, Kangana’s forthcoming endeavor encompasses “Emergency,” marking her debut as a solo helmswoman, essaying the role of the erstwhile Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. In contrast, Shekhar’s recent foray was witnessed in “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.”
