In the heart of New Delhi, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, alongside Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, ushered in a groundbreaking initiative on Sunday – the inauguration of two All-Women Police Posts located at Khan Market and Shraddhanand Marg in the central precinct of the city. Expressing his contentment, Saxena hailed this historic stride by the Delhi Police, highlighting the imperative need for more such posts across the capital.

Under this innovative approach, female victims are now afforded the liberty to articulate their grievances to women officers, ensuring a prompt and efficacious resolution by the force. Saxena, buoyed by the accolades garnered by the all-women’s team during the recent Republic Day parade, mandated the establishment of All-Women Police Posts.

Currently, women constitute 15.17 percent of the Delhi Police, and Saxena reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to elevating the proportion to 33 percent in adherence to the ethos of “Naari Shakti.” He disclosed that the Delhi Police has initiated direct recruitment processes to expedite this augmentation. Saxena, post-inauguration, diligently oversaw the operational dynamics of the newly inaugurated posts.

The Delhi Police, in a subsequent statement, elucidated that these All-Women Police Posts are outfitted with cutting-edge equipment and adept personnel. Khan Market, renowned for its cosmopolitan ambiance, dynamic atmosphere, and global allure, caters to a diverse demographic, including international visitors. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) M Harsha Vardhan remarked on Khan Market’s significance, emphasizing its role in showcasing the vibrancy of New Delhi.

The post at Khan Market, established in 2016, has been pivotal in upholding law and order, as affirmed by Vardhan. Meanwhile, the post at Shraddhanand Marg endeavors to provide a conducive environment for female complainants, ensuring the presence of women police officers. The inauguration witnessed the participation of representatives from the Khan Market Residents’ Welfare Association.
