In the realm of vaccine production, Dr. Krishna Ella, the Executive Chairman of Bharat Biotech, assumes the mantle of leadership as the President of the Indian Vaccine Manufacturers Association (IVMA). The IVMA officially confirms this transition in a formal statement.
Additionally, the IVMA specifies that Dr. Krishna Ella will hold the esteemed position of IVMA President for a tenure spanning two years. This succession entails Dr. Krishna Ella succeeding Adar C Poonawalla, the former President of IVMA.
In tandem with this change, Mahima Datla, the managing director of Biological E, ascends to the role of vice-chairperson. Meanwhile, Srinivas, the Chief Financial Officer of Bharat Biotech, retains his role as treasurer, and Dr. Harsha Vardhan continues his tenure as the director general of IVMA.
In a statement during the induction, Dr. Krishna Ella articulates the association’s commitment to the universal provision of life-saving vaccines.
Concurrently, on the preceding Friday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar undertook a visit to Bharat Biotech’s vaccine facility situated at Genome Valley in Hyderabad. Accompanying him was Telangana’s In-charge Governor, C P Radhakrishnan. The Vice President reminisced on Bharat Biotech’s pivotal role in combatting the COVID pandemic.
During the visit, Dr. Krishna Ella expounded to the Vice President on their unwavering dedication to vaccine innovation and their aspiration to foster India’s self-reliance in vaccine production.
