Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu clarified on Wednesday his allegiance to the National Democratic Alliance, announcing his impending journey to New Delhi for the NDA meeting.
Speaking at a press conference, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh reflected, “In politics, permanence is a myth. The essence of our nation, democracy, and political entities endures eternally. Should political entities function with integrity, the people will rally behind them once more.”
Naidu also vehemently criticized the YSRCP and its leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“The recent election was nothing short of historic. Even individuals from distant corners, driven by fervor, participated. It is an election deserving of inscription in the annals of Telugu Desam Party’s history,” asserted Chandrababu.
“In 1983, when NTR (N T Rama Rao) established his party, we secured 200 seats. Today, the outcome was unforeseen once again. The bedrock of any democracy is the freedom of expression,” he elaborated.
Expressing gratitude for the resounding victory of the NDA, Chandrababu remarked, “I humbly extend my heartfelt gratitude. Throughout my extensive political journey, I have never witnessed a government akin to the past five years. We have witnessed the erosion of democratic institutions. The people must triumph, and our mission is to stand by the state,” proclaimed the 74-year-old leader.
He also extended thanks to Jan Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan. TDP, in coalition with Jan Sena and the BJP, clinched 16 seats in the Lok Sabha polls, the results of which were announced on June 4th.
