In a ceremonious event held at Gannavaram near Vijayawada on Wednesday, N Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), assumed office as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth time. His political journey saw him occupying this esteemed position twice in the erstwhile unified Andhra Pradesh. Notably, he led the state during its pivotal phase of bifurcation. Now, embarking on his second term post the formation of Telangana state, Naidu’s leadership once again comes to the fore.
The auspicious occasion witnessed the presence of dignitaries such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister and BJP President J P Nadda, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Coals and Mines G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of States Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with various other senior BJP leaders.
Accompanying Naidu are 24 ministers, a diverse cabinet that includes Konidela Pawan Kalyan, the Chief of Jana Sena Party (JSP), and N Lokesh Naidu, the National General Secretary of TDP and Naidu’s son. Additionally, the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet embraces representation from the Jana Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with three MLAs and one MLA respectively.
Meanwhile, in Odisha, Governor Raghubar Das appointed Mohan Charan Majhi as the Chief Minister post his election as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party. The Majhi-led Council of Ministers, accompanied by two Deputy Chief Ministers, will take their oath at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar, at 4:55 PM on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, as per an official statement from the Raj Bhavan.
