In the precincts of Raipur, Chhattisgarh, the electoral arena resonated with the ascendancy of Raja Devendra Pratap Singh, a stalwart of the Bharatiya Janata Party, as he ascended to the coveted position in the Rajya Sabha uncontested.

Dinesh Sharma, the Election Officer and Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, extolled Raja Devendra Pratap Singh’s triumph, bestowing upon him the election certificate along with a tastefully arranged bouquet in acknowledgment of his victory.

Vishnudeo Sai, the Chief Executive of Chhattisgarh, conveyed his felicitations to Raja Devendra Pratap Singh, applauding his success. Sai, via a post on the microblogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, remarked, “My heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Tribal Gond Raja Devendra Pratap Singhji on being elected unopposed as a Rajya Sabha member from Chhattisgarh (sic).”

“I have full confidence that you will eloquently advocate the issues of identity, culture, and public welfare pertinent to Chhattisgarh on the grand stage of the Upper House of Parliament. Best wishes to you once again… (sic),” appended the Chief Minister.

Arun Sao, the Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, and Brijmohan Agarwal, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, also extended their congratulations to Raja Devendra Prapat Singh.

Simultaneously, Raja Devendra Pratap Singh expressed his gratitude to the upper echelons of the BJP for entrusting him with this new responsibility. “Having forsaken my governmental post to align with the BJP, I now find myself bestowed with a fresh duty under the benevolence of the people,” he further asserted.

The initiation of Raja Devendra Pratap Singh’s journey towards the Rajya Sabha transpired on February 14, with the submission of his nomination in the presence of Kiran Singh Deo, the Chief of the Chhattisgarh BJP. Lailunga, nestled in the Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh, claims the honor of being the birthplace of this recently anointed Rajya Sabha member.

Subsequent to his affiliation with the BJP, Raja Devendra Pratap Singh assumed a pivotal role in the ‘District Panchayat’ of Raigarh district. Additionally, he presides over the Tribal Gaurav Samaj and holds a significant position in the Hindi Advisory Committee within the Ministry of Railways, tracing his lineage as the great-grandson of Raja Chakradhar Singh.
