In the upcoming year of 2024, the Army Commanders’ Conference will adopt a hybrid approach, commencing with a virtual session on March 28 followed by an in-person gathering in New Delhi on April 1 and 2.

The Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, is set to deliver an address and engage in discussions with senior military officials during this significant conference. It serves as a crucial platform for the highest echelons of the Indian Army to deliberate on conceptual matters, evaluate the prevailing security landscape, and set forth key priorities essential for critical policy decisions, as per a statement released by the Ministry of Defence (MOD).

Led by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Manoj Pande, the conference will kick off on March 28 in New Delhi, with Army Commanders attending virtually from their respective Command Headquarters. Deliberations will focus on pivotal agendas affecting the operational readiness of the field army and the welfare of veterans. Distinguished experts will also deliver talks on the evolving geopolitical scenario and its implications for national security, the statement elaborated.

In the physical segment scheduled for April 1, top Army leadership will engage in intensive brainstorming sessions aimed at bolstering operational efficiency, fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability, and investing in comprehensive training and development initiatives to ensure preparedness for future exigencies.

The brainstorming sessions will also address issues pertaining to the welfare of service personnel, with a focus on improving the quality of life for soldiers and their families. Subsequently, a meeting of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Army Group Insurance, presided over by General Manoj Pande and attended by financial management experts, will deliberate on various welfare measures and schemes aimed at ensuring the financial security of serving soldiers, veterans, and their families.

On April 2, Rajnath Singh is slated to deliver a keynote address. Additionally, the senior hierarchy of the Army will receive addresses from the Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral R Hari Kumar, and the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari. The event will also be graced by the presence of the Defence Secretary and other senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, the statement concluded.
