In Pune, a quintet faced legal repercussions subsequent to the discovery of condoms, gutkha, and stones within samosas supplied to a prominent automobile establishment in Pimpri Chinchwad, as per a statement by a law enforcement representative on Monday.
The implicated individuals consist of two laborers affiliated with a subcontracting entity tasked with the samosa provision and three associates of another similar establishment previously dismissed due to contamination concerns, the representative mentioned.
“The trio allegedly orchestrated the placement of these two laborers to tarnish the reputation of the present contracting entity,” the spokesperson elucidated.
“Catalyst Service Solutions Pvt Ltd bears the responsibility for provisioning edibles to the automotive firm’s cafeteria. The corporation had subcontracted the samosa supply to a different entity named Manohar Enterprises. On Saturday, certain employees of the automotive company discovered condoms, gutkha, and stones within the samosas,” he explained.
Following inquiries directed at Manohar Enterprises’ personnel concerning the incident, it transpired that two workers, identified as Firoz Shaikh and Vicky Shaikh, purportedly inserted condoms, gutkha, and stones into the samosas, stated the official from Chikhli police station.
“We have filed charges under IPC section 328 (pertaining to causing injury via poisonous substances) and 120B (relating to criminal conspiracy). The duo disclosed that they are employees of SRA Enterprises and were dispatched by its associates to Manohar Enterprises for adulterating the latter’s food supplies,” he added.
SRA Enterprises had been relieved of its contractual obligations previously after a bandage was uncovered within a snack they had provided, and the associates, identified as Rahim Shaikh, Azhar Shaikh, and Majhar Shaikh, aimed to besmirch the market standing of Manohar Enterprises.
