In the judicial realm of Prayagraj, the Allahabad High Court has deferred the adjudication on the petition contesting the decree permitting Hindu devotions within the subterranean confines of the Gyanvapi mosque to the 12th of February. The court, on Wednesday, postponed the legal proceedings challenging the authorization of Hindu prayers in a subterranean chamber of the Gyanvapi mosque to the aforementioned date.
The Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, the custodian of the mosque situated in Varanasi proximate to the Kashi Vishwanath temple, submitted the petition last Friday contesting the court’s decision in Varanasi, which sanctioned prayers in the southern cellar of the Gyanvapi Mosque. The Allahabad High Court refrained from immediately providing respite to the Gyanvapi Masjid committee, which had impugned the order from the Varanasi district court.
