In an announcement made on Sunday, the National Testing Agency (NTA) disclosed that the deadline for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG application has been further extended until April 5. Initially set for March 26, the deadline was previously extended to March 31.
Sadhana Parashar, the Senior Director (Exams) at NTA, stated, “Responding to requests from candidates and other stakeholders, we have extended the deadline for online submission of the CUET-UG 2024 application form until 9:50 PM on April 5, 2024.” Additionally, she mentioned that candidates have the option to use either their school ID or any government ID with a photograph for identification purposes.
Scheduled to take place from May 15 to 31, the CUET-UG 2024 exam introduces a hybrid examination format, a notable departure from tradition. This format integrates both computer-based testing and pen-and-paper modes for different subjects. NTA officials have indicated that subjects with high registration volumes will employ a pen-and-paper format utilizing optical mark recognition (OMR), while others will remain computer-based. The CUET-UG, introduced in 2022, aims to streamline admission processes across central, state, deemed, and private universities nationwide. In the previous cycle, approximately 14.9 lakh registrations were recorded for CUET-UG, underscoring its significance in the higher education landscape.
