A tribunal here on Monday sanctioned the entreaty of the Delhi Constabulary for a trinity of days of custodial questioning of the proprietor and on-duty clinician of the private infirmary where a conflagration claimed the lives of seven neonates and harmed five. Principal Urban Magistrate Vidhi Gupta Anand dispatched Dr. Naveen Khichi, the infirmary’s proprietor, and Dr. Aaksh — who was on assignment at the hour of the conflagration tardy on Saturday — to a triad-day police confinement.
A comprehensive edict in the concern is anticipated. Law enforcement apprehended the duo of clinicians on Sunday. A voluminous blaze erupted on Saturday night at Baby Care New Born Child Hospital in eastern Delhi’s Vivek Vihar that purportedly operated unlawfully with an “expired” permit and no ratification from the fire department.
A lawsuit has been logged at Vivek Vihar police precinct under IPC articles 336 (act imperiling the life and individual safety of others) and 304A (causing demise by dereliction), 304 (penalty for culpable homicide not rising to assassination), and 308 (endeavor to perpetrate culpable homicide).
