Amidst the twilight in Roorkee, tragedy struck as a young woman, aged 20, met her demise beneath the wheels of a train while engaged in crafting a social media vignette along the railway tracks. This grievous incident unfolded at Rahimpur railway gate, nestled near the enclave of Shivpuram Colony in the heart of Roorkee. The departed, Vaishali by name, hailed from the hamlet of Haripur Tongia, nestled within the jurisdiction of Buggawala police station, and resided in the domicile of her maternal uncle, Naresh, situated within Shivapuram Colony, under the purview of Roorkee Ganganahar Kotwali precinct.
As per the narrative pieced together by law enforcement, Vaishali ventured to Rahimpur railway gate in the company of an acquaintance on the preceding evening. Stationed upon the tracks, with her companion in close proximity, both were ensnared in the throes of content creation, oblivious to the imminent approach of a train bound for Saharanpur from Haridwar.
The locomotive, its presence unnoticed, collided with Vaishali, sealing her fate as she succumbed to her injuries instantaneously. Hastening to relay news of the calamity, Vaishali’s companion hastened homeward to apprise her kin. Upon receipt of the distressing tidings, a contingent from Ganganahar police station promptly convened at the scene, orchestrating the transportation of the deceased’s remains to the Civil Hospital for forensic examination.
Inspector Govind Kumar, the overseer of operations at Ganganahar police station, disclosed that two females were engrossed in crafting social media content alongside the railway track when tragedy struck. A locomotive en route from Haridwar to Saharanpur collided with one of the individuals, resulting in her untimely demise. A formal inquiry into the matter has been initiated, with the deceased’s body entrusted to the confines of the Civil Hospital for postmortem scrutiny.
