Amidst the bustling streets of New Delhi, Sunita, the spouse of Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi’s Chief Executive, made a fervent plea to the populace, portraying herself as a custodian of the nation’s heritage, urging them to resist authoritarianism and safeguard the principles of democracy.
Perched atop a vehicle’s sunroof, Sunita, adorned with floral offerings, extended warm salutations to the electorate. In her impassioned address, she lionized her husband as an indomitable force, impervious to coercion or capitulation.
Reflecting on Kejriwal’s incarceration in connection to allegations of financial impropriety, Sunita underscored his legacy of educational reform, provision of complimentary utilities, and establishment of community healthcare centers. “Your incumbent leader is akin to a formidable beast, unyielding in the face of adversity. His spirit remains unbroken, emblematic of our nation’s resilience. As a steward of our nation’s ethos, I beseech you to repudiate tyranny and uphold the sanctity of our democratic institutions. Recognize the intrinsic worth of your ballot,” she exhorted.
Despite Kejriwal’s legal entanglements, Sunita steadfastly leads the electoral charge on behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), traversing the length and breadth of the city, engaging in spirited roadshows. Her advocacy extends beyond the confines of the national capital, as she prepares to rally support for AAP candidates across multiple constituencies, spanning the states of Gujarat, Haryana, and Punjab.
