In New Delhi, the Traffic Authority fashioned a verdant path spanning 16 kilometers to facilitate the conveyance of a liver, which had traversed from Chandigarh to the airport, destined for a medical facility in Dwarka, as per statements from officials made on Wednesday.
A senior officer remarked that the vital organ arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport from Chandigarh approximately at 1.30 pm on Tuesday and then completed the journey to Aakash Healthcare Super Speciality Hospital in Dwarka via the corridor in a mere 18 minutes. To ensure the unimpeded and rapid progression of the ambulance ferrying the organ, thirty-five traffic personnel were deployed along the designated route, the officer stated.
Authorities disclosed that the hospital had advised them of the organ’s delicate nature, necessitating transportation within a securely sealed container weighing around 15 kilograms. Furthermore, the hospital had specifically requested that precautions be taken to shield the organ from exposure to X-rays. A police spokesperson noted that they had facilitated eight similar green corridors thus far this year, with a total of 24 such passages provided last year.
