Jammu and Kashmir Police on High Alert
The Jammu and Kashmir Police, on an urgent Wednesday, unveiled sketches of four insurgents implicated in a duo of assaults within the Doda district. An enticing bounty of Rs 20 lakh is now on offer for intelligence that culminates in their apprehension.
A Week of Violence
The tumult commenced on Tuesday when insurgents brazenly attacked a joint checkpoint manned by the 4 Rashtriya Rifles and police at Chattergalla in Bhaderwah. This was swiftly followed by an onslaught on a search contingent in Gandoh, leaving seven security personnel, including a policeman, wounded.
Call to Action
“Sketches of four insurgents, believed to be operating in the upper reaches of Bhaderwah, Thathri, and Gandoh, have been disseminated,” a police spokesperson conveyed. Additionally, a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh per insurgent has been declared for any intelligence leading to their capture.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police earnestly solicit the populace to aid by divulging information regarding these insurgents’ whereabouts and movements. On Tuesday night, sketches of another terrorist involved in an assault on a passenger bus in Reasi district were released, with an elevated reward of Rs 20 lakh announced for leads on his location.
Tragic Incident on Pilgrims’ Bus
Earlier, on Sunday, terrorists unleashed gunfire on a 53-seater bus ferrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. The bus, journeying through Teryath village in the Poni area, tragically veered into a deep gorge amid the chaos, resulting in the deaths of nine passengers and injuries to 41 others. The victims hailed from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi.
