Jammu: Vigilant Border Security Force (BSF) operatives discharged a volley of shots to neutralize a purported Pakistani aerial device near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch region, officials divulged on Wednesday. The intrusion of the drone from the opposite frontier was detected by the vigilant sentinels at the Khanetar post around 11:30 PM on Tuesday, the officials indicated.
They elaborated that the troops unleashed in excess of thirty-six rounds at the drone to incapacitate it. A heightened alert was declared, and the entire vicinity was subjected to an intense lockdown, the officials conveyed, adding that an extensive search mission commenced at dawn to secure the perimeter.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police had earlier proclaimed a monetary incentive of Rs 3 lakh for any intelligence leading to the interception of drones infiltrating from the border, especially those intended for the conveyance of armaments and narcotics, culminating in the seizure of such contraband.
