In Dehradun, a gathering unfolded at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, marking the graduation of 99 esteemed officers of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) on Wednesday. Amidst this event of significance, President Droupadi Murmu graced the occasion with her presence.
Taking the stage, President Droupadi Murmu delivered an insightful address to the newly graduated cadre of Indian Forest Service officers. Noteworthy among the cohort of 99 individuals, three hail from the picturesque realm of Uttarakhand.
During the ceremony, President Murmu bestowed certificates of merit and accolades upon the accomplished officers who successfully completed their training at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy in Dehradun for the tenure spanning 2022-24.
In her compelling discourse, President Murmu shed light on the contemporary negligence towards the sanctity of forests, urging people to recognize their vital role in sustaining life itself. “Forests are not mere repositories of resources; they constitute a vital component of the ecosystem, playing a pivotal role in the cycle of human existence,” she articulated.
Furthermore, the President emphasized the incumbent duty of the Indian Forest Service officers to safeguard nature, expressing her optimism that each officer would discharge this responsibility with utmost diligence. “A harmonious equilibrium between progress and preservation shall be sought,” she remarked.
Expounding on the need for rigorous scrutiny of development standards, President Droupadi Murmu underscored the imperative of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into nature conservation efforts.
In the midst of this august gathering, Uttarakhand Governor Gurmeet Singh extended his felicitations to the officers, recognizing the weighty mantle they bear in the conservation of nature.
