Amidst the administrative hubbub of New Delhi, the Election Commission of India (ECI) found its digital corridors abuzz with an impressive influx of 1,25,939 complaints via the EC’s cVigil App, spanning the period from March 16 to April 3.
Within this labyrinth of grievances, a staggering 1,25,551 matters found resolution, with a swift disposition of 1,13,481 complaints achieved within a mere 100-minute window. Yet, amidst this tide of adjudication, 388 concerns linger in the labyrinth of pending deliberations.
Illuminating the geographic tapestry of discontent, data from the Election Commission delineates a mosaic of grievances across 36 States/Union Territories. Foremost among these, Kerala emerged as the epicenter of dissent, recording a formidable tally of 71,168 grievances during the stipulated timeframe. Following closely, Uttarakhand registered 14,684 concerns, with Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh notching 13,959 and 7,055 complaints, respectively. The electoral landscape further revealed murmurs of dissent in West Bengal, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh, among others.
Within the labyrinth of Kerala’s 71,168 complaints, a commendable 70,929 found resolution, with an impressive 67,128 matters quelled within the fleeting span of 100 minutes. Similarly, Uttarakhand witnessed the efficient closure of 14,667 grievances, with 14,071 matters resolved expediently.
The electoral tableau of Karnataka bore witness to the disposal of 13,921 complaints, of which 11,908 found resolution within the designated timeframe. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh grappled with 7,052 grievances, with 6,308 concerns finding swift redressal.
In stark contrast, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Ladakh remained serene, devoid of any electoral tumult, whilst Meghalaya, Dadra And Nagar Haveli And Daman And Diu, Manipur, Jammu Kashmir, Puducherry, and Tripura echoed with sporadic complaints.
As the sands of time continue to trickle, 388 complaints stand poised in limbo, awaiting adjudication. Kerala, once again, dominates this tableau of uncertainty, with 239 grievances lingering in the realm of unresolved discord. Karnataka, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand share in this symphony of lingering discontent.
