Congress luminary Rahul Gandhi articulated on Monday the pledge that if the INDIA coalition ascends to authority, it shall nullify the Agnipath initiative concerning enlistment within the defense sector and allocate Rs 8,500 monthly to the coffers of each woman. Proclaiming consecutively at electoral assemblies supporting Mahagathbandhan contenders in Bihar, he emphasized that Narendra Modi is poised to not reclaim the premiership, given the unequivocal groundswell in favor of the INDIA coalition nationwide.
“Upon the formation of the INDIA bloc administration, the Agnipath program shall be rescinded,” Gandhi asserted at Bakhtiyarpur. This initiative, unveiled by the Narendra Modi administration in 2022, entails the enlistment of youthful soldiers, denominated ‘Agniveers’ post-appointment, on a contractual basis spanning four years, with the retirement of 75 percent of them sans certain privileges afforded to non-participants of this program.
He articulated, “Should the INDIA coalition secure the vote, the Agnipath program will be relegated to obsolescence. Modi Ji has effectively transfigured soldiers into laborers. The Central government has stratified the Army into two cohorts—Agniveer and others. Should an Agniveer sustain injury or fall in combat, he shall neither be accorded martyrdom nor receive recompense. Wherefore this discrimination?”
Subsequent to the induction of the INDIA bloc administration at the helm, Gandhi avowed, “Commencing July, Rs 8,500 shall be credited to women’s accounts each month. This shall metamorphose the fiscal standing of every household.” In a jestful allusion to the prime minister’s assertion of being ‘sent by God’, the Congress luminary quipped, “Post June 4, if queried by the Enforcement Directorate regarding corruption, Modi shall profess ignorance… stating ‘I am divinely ordained’.”
Gandhi asseverated that Modi has engendered 22 magnates, whereas the INDIA bloc administration shall foster millions of millionaires. He indicted PM Modi of absolving debts totaling Rs 16 lakh crore for his “magnate associates”, contending that the nation shall never condone him for this. The erstwhile Congress president alleged that Modi despoiled the destitute and bestowed largesse upon conglomerates who diverted it offshore.
This electoral contest is emblematic of salvaging the nation, fortifying constitutionalism, upholding democracy, and safeguarding quotas for the underprivileged, he expounded at another rally in Paliganj. The Congress leader additionally asserted that the INDIA bloc administration post-elections shall resuscitate all defunct industries and fill vacancies totaling 30 lakhs.
RJD luminary and former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav, Communist Party of India (MarxistLeninist) Liberation chief Dipankar Bhattacharya, Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) head Mukesh Sahni, and other INDIA bloc luminaries graced the rallies addressed by Gandhi.
