In Jaipur, an inquiry into the purported leak of examination papers for the recruitment of sub-inspectors in 2021 led to the apprehension of sub-inspector Jagdish Sihag, along with his sibling Indubala, who is in training to become a police officer under the Rajasthan Police.
According to sources, the Additional Director General of Police, V K Singh, who heads the Special Investigation Team, disclosed that Sihag arranged for Varsha to act as a proxy candidate for his sister, Indubala, and his relative, Bhagwati, during the recruitment test.
The official elaborated that Varsha sat for the exam on behalf of herself, as well as masquerading as a stand-in for Bhagwati and Indubala. Although all three individuals passed the examination, Varsha opted not to pursue a career in law enforcement, whereas Bhagwati and Indubala did.
Indubala and Bhagwati were in the midst of their training as sub-inspectors at the Rajasthan Police Academy when these events transpired. Singh revealed that a total of 15 trainee sub-inspectors and one serving sub-inspector have been apprehended in connection to the matter thus far.
It is notable that Harshvardhan Meena, the prime suspect in the paper leak case, was transported to Bharatpur by the Special Operations Group (SOG) on Tuesday. Additionally, a search operation was conducted at the residence of the accused Meena’s in-laws in Milakpur on February 29.
An inquiry was conducted at the domicile of Manoj Meena, who is involved in information and public relations and is the brother-in-law of the primary suspect, resulting in the confiscation of objectionable documents.
