Fatal Delhi Building Collapse Shocks Residents

In the heart of New Delhi, tragedy struck as a pair of laborers perished and another suffered injury following the collapse of a structure housing a denim manufacturing facility in the Welcome area of northeast Delhi during the early hours of Thursday, as disclosed by authorities. The ill-fated trio were diligently engaged in their tasks on the ground level of the edifice, a two-story relic of yesteryears, as recounted by sources privy to the matter.

The calamitous event was brought to the attention of the authorities at precisely 2:16 am, when a report surfaced detailing the abrupt downfall of the antiquated two-tier construction, narrated Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey. Although the upper floor stood vacant, the lower floor buzzed with activity, dedicated to the art of denim craftsmanship, he elucidated.

“In the grim aftermath, three industrious souls found themselves ensnared beneath the rubble, their plight not going unnoticed,” articulated another official. Swift measures were taken to extricate the beleaguered trio, and they were promptly conveyed to the GTB Hospital, albeit regrettably, the vital signs of two individuals ebbed away, identified as Arshad (30) and Tauhid (20), while Rehan (22) now grapples with injuries, valiantly clinging to life under the watchful eye of medical practitioners.

Anoop Singh, the stalwart station officer of the Delhi Fire Service stationed at Geeta Colony, recounted the urgency of the situation, noting the dispatch of four fire brigade units to the site of the incident. “Upon arrival, the harrowing sight of a structure in ruin greeted our eyes, with souls in distress clamoring for deliverance,” he narrated. With resolute determination, the trapped individuals were liberated from their concrete shackles and promptly whisked away to receive medical aid.

The swift response drew accolades from Haji Zarif, a distinguished local councilor hailing from Kabir Nagar, who bore witness to the valiant efforts firsthand. “With the combined efforts of the fire brigade and law enforcement, the entrapped individuals found reprieve from their dire predicament,” he attested.

In the wake of the calamity, Shoaib Jamui, a prominent figure within the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) and a resident in close proximity to the ill-fated structure, visited the scene, eschewing any hint of political opportunism. “Our focus should be on rectifying the systemic issues that led to this tragedy, rather than exploiting it for personal gain,” he advocated, echoing the sentiment of many within the community.

Authorities disclosed that the proprietor of the structure, identified as Shahid, remains elusive as efforts persist to ascertain his whereabouts. The wheels of justice are set in motion, with legal ramifications looming large for those found culpable in this lamentable affair.
