Amidst the relentless heat of the India-Pakistan border, a solemn event unfolded as a member of the Border Security Force (BSF) succumbed to heat stroke. Identified as Constable Ajay Kumar, hailing from Saru village in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, he served valiantly in the 173rd Corps of Border Security Force, stationed at the Bhanu border post.
Tragically, the scorching temperatures took a toll on his health, leading to his untimely demise despite medical intervention. His mortal remains were tenderly transported to Ramgarh Hospital, where solemn rituals were observed. Following a meticulous post mortem, the body was entrusted to BSF officials for onward journey.
A poignant Guard of Honor graced the precincts of Ramgarh Hospital, a tribute befitting the sacrifice of the fallen soldier. Officers of the 173rd Corps of the Border Security Force, in a somber display of respect, paid homage with a wreath-laying ceremony.
As the mercury soared to unprecedented heights, with temperatures breaching 55 degrees Celsius along the India-Pakistan border, the solemnity of the occasion was amplified, reminding all of the relentless challenges faced by those safeguarding the nation’s frontiers.
