Bengaluru: The Karnataka Excessive Courtroom on Tuesday granted bail to 3 accused within the homicide of social employee and journalist Gauri Lankesh. Lankesh was shot useless in 2017.

A bench headed by Justice S Vishwajit Shetty granted conditional bail to Amit Digvekar, KT Naveen Kumar and Suresh HL. Justice S Vishwajit Shetty had reserved the order on all three bail petitions on July 2.

The three accused had filed bail petitions citing the case of co-accused Mohan Nayak, who was granted bail by the Excessive Courtroom in December 2023 as a result of delay within the trial. Nayak had argued that solely 90 out of the 527 witnesses of the cost sheet had been examined at the moment.
