In Sonipat, tragedy struck when a boiler erupted at a factory, claiming the lives of two individuals and causing injuries to 15 others, as reported by the local authorities on Thursday.
According to the police, the unfortunate incident occurred during the late hours of the night at Shree Ganesh factory in the Dahiya colony, situated within the jurisdiction of Kundli police station. The factory workers were engrossed in their tasks when the boiler suddenly unleashed its destructive force. Two workers succumbed to severe burns, while numerous colleagues sustained grave injuries from the explosion’s impact. The force of the blast was so immense that it led to the collapse of an adjacent structure and inflicted damage upon several others.
Upon hearing the deafening sound of the explosion, nearby residents hurried to the scene, discovering the premises in a state of devastation. Promptly, a team comprising personnel from Kundli police station and fire brigade rushed to the location, initiating a rescue operation without delay.
A senior police official revealed that the injured victims were swiftly transported to Raja Harish Chandra Hospital in Narela. Tragically, medical professionals pronounced two of the workers brought to the hospital as deceased. Several other individuals are currently receiving medical care for burn injuries sustained in the incident. Preliminary investigations indicate widespread structural damage in the vicinity attributable to the boiler explosion.
In the wake of the catastrophe, local residents have voiced grievances alleging a lack of requisite support and aid from the district administration.
