The unfortunate incident unfolded when their vehicle purportedly collided head-on with a large truck along National Highway 75. Among the deceased are noted to be two women, three men, and a boy, all hailing from the village of Karahalli, nestled within the Hosakote taluk of Chikkaballapur district.
Originating from Karahalli, Hosakote taluk, Chikkaballapur district, the victims’ bodies have been relocated to a nearby medical facility to undergo necessary post-mortem procedures and other obligatory formalities. Law enforcement authorities have initiated an official inquiry into the matter, diligently striving to unravel the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
The ill-fated family had embarked on a journey to visit an ailing relative in Mangaluru and were on their homeward route when tragedy befell them. The vehicle veered sharply, colliding with a central divider before careening into the adjacent lane and ultimately colliding with a cargo-laden transport vehicle proceeding from the opposite direction.
Attributing the cause of the accident to driver incompetence and neglect, police sources have confirmed that Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Suchita, promptly assumed oversight of the investigation, personally surveying the scene of the incident to ascertain crucial details and gather evidence.
