The dissemination of a video featuring Randeep Surjewala, a prominent figure within the Congress party, on the social networking platform ‘X’, formerly recognized as Twitter, was initiated by Amit Malviya, a prominent member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Within said video, Randeep Surjewala is observed delivering objectionable remarks regarding Hema Malini, a Bollywood luminary and a Member of Parliament representing the BJP.

Acknowledging the gravity of this incident, the Haryana Women Commission has proceeded to dispatch a formal notice to Randeep Surjewala. The aforementioned Congress leader has been summoned to present himself before the Commission on April 9th.

Expressing his disapproval, Amit Malviya, serving as the head of the BJP’s IT cell, conveyed via ‘X’, “Congress MP Randeep Surjewala has articulated a repulsive, sexist commentary, which is not only disparaging towards Hema Malini, an individual of noteworthy accomplishments, but also towards the entirety of womankind. To depict women in such a degrading manner is utterly reprehensible. Only recently, Surjewala’s colleague was inquiring about the ‘value’ of another female BJP leader, and now this… Such conduct epitomizes the ethos of Rahul Gandhi’s Congress, characterized by its misogynistic tendencies and disdain for women.”

Kangana Ranaut, a renowned actress and BJP candidate vying for the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh, vehemently condemned Surjewala’s remarks directed at Hema Malini. Shehzad Poonawala, a spokesperson for the BJP, took to Twitter to denounce the incident, asserting, “This egregious affront to feminine influence epitomizes the ethos of the Congress. Congress MP Randeep Surjewala has made despicable, misogynistic, and gender-biased remarks not only directed at Hema Malini but also at the essence of feminine authority.”

Anil Vij, a senior BJP figure, remarked, “This reprehensible attitude towards women is not a novel occurrence within the Congress party.” Randeep Surjewala made these objectionable comments during a rally, with Sushil Gupta, the candidate representing the India bloc from Kurukshetra, in attendance.
