In the vicinity of Ramban, situated in the region of Jammu and Kashmir, a tragic incident unfolded as nearly a decuple of individuals perished subsequent to a vehicular mishap, wherein the conveyance they occupied plummeted into a profound abyss along the Jammu-Srinagar National Thoroughfare.
Upon receiving word of the calamitous event, law enforcement, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the Ramban Civil Quick Response Team (QRT) expeditiously descended upon the location, commencing immediate endeavors to effectuate a rescue. This lamentable occurrence transpired proximate to Battery Chashma on the aforementioned national thoroughfare within the confines of Ramban, during the course of the passenger cab’s traversal from Jammu toward Srinagar. As of present, the retrieval of the mortal remains of approximately ten occupants has been undertaken by the rescue contingent, as conveyed by law enforcement authorities.
It has been elucidated by law enforcement sources that the abyss into which the vehicular accident occurred is of considerable depth and is shrouded in darkness below, compounded by incessant precipitation which has rendered the ongoing rescue operation a formidable undertaking.
In the wake of this tragedy, Union Minister Jitendra Singh has engaged in discourse with Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-ul-Haq, maintaining a continuous liaison with pertinent authorities. “Following the receipt of distressing news pertaining to the grievous vehicular mishap wherein a passenger taxi careened into a steep precipice along the Jammu-Srinagar National Thoroughfare in the proximity of Battery Chashma, resulting in the demise of ten individuals, I have engaged in dialogue with DC Ramban. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the grieving families,” expressed Singh.
A senior functionary of the Jammu and Kashmir Police has disclosed that the passenger cab met its fateful descent into a gorge of three hundred meters depth along the Jammu-Srinagar national thoroughfare, adjacent to Battery Chashma within the precincts of Ramban. A coalition comprising police personnel, SDRF operatives, and civil QRT members is actively present at the scene, endeavoring to execute ongoing rescue operations.
