In Amritsar, a Punjabi NRI, accompanied by his Spanish wife on a visit to Himachal Pradesh, found himself injured following an alleged assault by local residents.

Despite the NRI couple’s claims of police assistance, they lamented the absence of an FIR despite repeated requests. Moreover, they accused the police of deleting a video capturing the locals’ attack on them.

Narrating their ordeal, the couple recounted an altercation with a parking contractor during a sightseeing trip to Dalhousie. They asserted that the contractor summoned over 100 individuals to the scene, leading to the assault.

The wife revealed that her husband endured a coma for three days before regaining consciousness. Additionally, she mentioned that their Punjabi housekeeper and brother-in-law, accompanying them, also suffered physical assault.

“Our safety was disregarded. Despite police intervention, our pleas were ignored, and no FIR was lodged. We implored for justice, but no action was taken against the assailants,” she expressed.

Attributing the attack to tensions stemming from the Kangana Ranaut incident, the couple asserted that they were targeted due to the actress’s altercation with a CISF constable at Chandigarh airport over her remarks on farmers.

Kawaljit Singh, the Punjabi NRI, disclosed his intention to establish a business in his homeland after residing in Spain for over 25 years. “Our leisure trip turned into a nightmare when we were confronted by a mob of 100. The trauma is profound, and we seek assurance of safety,” he asserted.
