Amidst the bustling airways, Tata-backed Air India took to the skies on Wednesday, inaugurating its flights along the vibrant Delhi-Dubai route aboard its gleaming Airbus A350-900 aircraft adorned in a striking new livery.
In a bold statement, the airline proclaimed, “With this inaugural flight, Air India proudly introduces its flagship aircraft to the international stage, securing its position as the sole carrier offering the A350 experience between India and Dubai.” Festivities adorned the departure gates of both Delhi and Dubai airports, where esteemed guests were treated to exclusive A350 keepsakes.
Per the company’s announcement, Air India’s A350-900 boasts a lavish three-class cabin layout, boasting a total of 316 seats, comprising 28 luxurious Business suites, 24 Premium Economy accommodations, and 264 Economy seats, all outfitted with cutting-edge technology and entertainment systems.
“The epitome of modern travel, every seat on board features the state-of-the-art Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system, accompanied by high-definition screens, offering an extensive selection of over 2,200 hours of entertainment from across the globe,” the airline declared.
The introduction of A350s into Air India’s fleet commenced earlier this year, as part of the airline’s monumental order for 470 new aircraft from industry giants Airbus and Boeing, set to be delivered over the course of the next five years. Presently, Air India operates a robust schedule of 72 weekly flights to Dubai, originating from five key Indian cities, including a notable 32 flights departing from Delhi alone.
