In the Shakarpur vicinity of east Delhi, a gruesome incident unfolded wherein a woman and her brother were purportedly murdered by her spouse wielding a screwdriver within their residence, as reported by law enforcement officials on Wednesday.
Kamlesh Holkar, aged 29 and an educator in Ghaziabad, and her younger brother, Ram Pratap Singh, 18, were discovered amidst a scene of carnage on the upper level of a residential edifice on Wednesday morning, per Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Apoorva Gupta.
Preliminary findings suggest that Holkar and her husband, Shreyansh Kumar Pal, engaged in a contentious altercation on Tuesday evening, culminating in Pal inflicting fatal injuries upon Holkar and Singh.
Singh had journeyed from his hometown in Uttar Pradesh to partake in the festivities for the couple’s two-year-old child’s birthday. Pal, initially unaccounted for, later appeared and was taken into custody by the authorities.
“He is currently under interrogation,” the officer remarked. DCP Gupta noted that Holkar’s father-in-law, Rambir Singh, discovered the bodies after ascending from the ground level, where he resides with his spouse, to awaken them in the morning.
Upon finding the tragic scene, he alerted the authorities, who promptly arrived and dispatched the bodies for forensic examination. The couple’s offspring was present at the residence and remains unharmed.
Further information revealed that Pal is an engineer by training, though presently without employment. His father, a retired member of the Indian Air Force, and his mother, employed in Delhi’s electricity sector, also reside nearby.
Pal’s younger sibling inhabits the first floor of the same building with his family. Statements from all relatives are being collected as the investigation progresses.
