The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) apprehended an individual for vending ganja at Nanakramguda on Wednesday. Probe divulged that the suspect, known as Neetubai, has amassed Rs 1.63 crore in her financial holdings and assets valued at Rs 2 crore in assorted localities of Hyderabad over the preceding eight years.
Acting upon a confidential disclosure, the TSNAB initiated a raid at the residence of the purported drug merchant in Nanakramguda on March 13, discovering her engaged in the sale of ganja. Neetubai, her spouse Munnusingh (53), immediate kin Surekha (38) and Mamata (50), along with thirteen purchasers of ganja, were apprehended by the TSNAB team.
“In the course of the operation, a total of seventeen individuals were detained. Three others, namely Anguribai of Dhulpet and Gautam Singh and Nehabai of Nanakramguda, are currently at large, and efforts to locate them are underway,” stated a TSNAB official.
As per a communiqué issued by TSNAB director Sandeep Sandilya on Thursday, 22.6 kg of ganja, two cellular devices, and Rs 22.10 lakh in cash were confiscated from the arrested parties.
TSNAB officials assert that Neetubhai and her associates ventured into the narcotics trade in pursuit of facile earnings. A kilogram of ganja procured at Rs 8,000 from Anguribai of Dhulpet is retailed in increments of 5 grams at Rs 500 each. The implicated individuals purportedly garner approximately Rs 50,000 from the sale of a solitary kilogram of ganja, as per investigators.
“Neetubhai has been found to possess assets valued at Rs 4 crore. She, her spouse, and accomplices have been charged under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act,” affirmed a TSNAB official.
