In Mussoorie, BJP national president JP Nadda critiqued the opposition, questioning whether the public would entrust their vote to leaders either incarcerated or out on bail. Nadda described the INDIA alliance as a consortium of unscrupulous individuals aiming to shield corruption, emphasizing that actions against the corrupt would escalate post-June 4.

In a speech at a public gathering in Mussoorie, Nadda asserted that opposition parties lack focus on public welfare and instead prioritize their family lineages.

He accused opposition-led governments of perpetuating various scams, such as the Congress party’s involvement in the coal, 3G, and 2G scams, the Commonwealth Games scam, the submarine scam, and the Akash Western scam. Nadda also mentioned the Akhilesh Yadav government’s alleged involvement in the laptop and Gomti River Front scams, as well as former Bihar CM Lalu Yadav’s involvement in fodder and land-for-job scams. He went on to name Mamata Banerjee’s government in the job scam and DMK’s involvement in the sand scam.

Nadda highlighted that many opposition leaders face legal troubles, either imprisoned or released on bail due to corruption allegations. “Should the public cast their votes for such individuals?” he queried.

Outlining the BJP-led government’s successes, Nadda observed that a decade ago, the notion was that politics couldn’t yield significant changes. However, under PM Modi’s leadership, the landscape of politics has been transformed. He cited decisive actions taken during the pandemic that safeguarded the lives of millions, as well as the rapid and large-scale vaccination program that India launched.

Nadda stated that rural areas have seen significant progress. He questioned whether everyone has received an Ujjwala gas connection and whether medical care is accessible through the Ayushman Bharat scheme. He mentioned that under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, roughly three lakh villages have gained road access, and water has reached every home. PM Modi has provided health coverage to 40% of the country’s populace and one rank-one pension to military personnel. The BJP government constructed 947 km of roads in Uttarakhand, where once-border villages are now referred to as the country’s inaugural villages. Uttarakhand also ranks first in the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, Nadda noted.

During the event, Nadda solicited support for the BJP candidate and sitting MP of Tehri Lok Sabha seat, Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah, who has previously secured this seat three times.
