“In the precincts of Thane, Maharashtra, a solitary individual finds themselves in custody, accused of not only manhandling but also robbing a 46-year-old operator of an auto rickshaw. Shockingly, this assailant coerced the victim into reciting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in the Thane district of Maharashtra. The pursuit is underway for four additional accomplices involved in this reprehensible incident.

The victim, recognized as Mohammad Sajid Mohammad Yasin Khan, took recourse to lodging a formal complaint at the Daigar police station. Subsequent to this grievance, a comprehensive investigation was promptly initiated.

As per the police account, the distressing episode unfolded at a designated auto rickshaw enclave in Mumra within the district, transpiring at approximately 11 pm on a Thursday. The aggrieved party recounted that, while stationed at the enclave, five individuals approached him unprovoked. Inexplicably, the accused commenced their offensive by hurling insults and subjecting him to physical assault. Callously, they thrust him onto the thoroughfare, relentlessly perpetuating the assault, as relayed by the complainant to the law enforcement.

Notably, the victim endured further indignity as the assailants compelled him to utter ‘Jai Shri Ram’ before departing the scene. It subsequently came to light that the victim’s rickshaw had been pilfered of Rs 2,000.

Consequently, the aggrieved party sought recourse at the Daigar police station, where a formal complaint was registered. A case was instituted under relevant sections of the IPC, namely 295A (pertaining to deliberate and malicious acts aimed at outraging and insulting religious sentiments), 395 (entailing punishment for dacoity), and 427 (relating to mischief causing damage to the tune of Rs 50).

In a subsequent search operation, the police successfully apprehended one among the five implicated individuals. An ongoing interrogation of the accused is in progress, alongside continued efforts to locate and apprehend his associates, as affirmed by an official from the Daigar police station.”
