In the annals of electoral history, the 2019 polls witnessed Arjun Munda’s triumph, securing 382,638 votes, with a mere whisker separating him from his closest contender, who garnered 381,193 votes—a slender victory margin of 1,445 votes. Conversely, in the preceding general election of 2014, the BJP’s Karia Munda clinched victory by a staggering margin of nearly one lakh votes, securing 269,185 votes, while JKP’s Anosh Ekka secured 176,937 votes.
