Upon casting her vote in the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Kangana Ranaut, the BJP candidate from the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh, proudly exhibited her inked finger, encouraging all to partake in the “celebration of democracy” and to exercise their voting rights.
Expressing her confidence in the BJP’s prospects in Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut, the Lok Sabha BJP candidate from Mandi, remarked on the unmistakable “Modi wave” prevalent in the state.
Encouraging voters to participate, Kangana emphasized, “I implore all to exercise their democratic right to vote. Sacrifices have been made to secure this privilege.”
Highlighting the prevalent “Modi wave” in Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut affirmed, “Our Prime Minister has been fervently campaigning, addressing nearly 200 rallies and giving numerous interviews within a span of just two months.”
Asserting her faith in BJP’s “400 paar” (beyond 400) slogan for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Kangana stated, “We stand as fervent supporters of PM Modi and are poised to secure victory in all four seats in Himachal Pradesh.”
Responding to criticism directed at PM Modi for his meditation sessions in Kanyakumari, Kangana retorted, “Meditation has been a longstanding practice for the Prime Minister, even prior to his political career. Yet, his detractors find fault in that too.”
The Mandi constituency anticipates a significant electoral contest, as Kangana Ranaut, transitioning into politics, aims to challenge the stronghold of the Congress party. Notably, the Mandi constituency holds symbolic importance for the Congress, being considered the bastion of the Virbhadra family.
Currently held by Pratibha Devi Singh, the widow of the late leader, the seat was secured for the Congress in a by-election following the demise of then-BJP MP Ram Swaroop Sharma. For the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress has nominated Vikramaditya Singh, the son of Himachal Pradesh Minister Virbhadra Singh, intensifying the electoral competition with two prominent contenders.
In the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the four constituencies in Himachal Pradesh — Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur, and Shimla — along with by-polls in six assembly seats, are undergoing voting. A total of 904 candidates are vying for victory in this conclusive phase of polling.
Key candidates in this phase include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad and Nishikant Dubey, Congress leaders Manish Tewari and Charanjit Singh Channi, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Misa Bharti.
