In concurrence with the assertion made by Congress luminary Rahul Gandhi, Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah opined that exit polls serve as a medium for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s narrative, highlighting the anticipation of the Congress securing 15-20 Lok Sabha constituencies out of 28 in the state.
Rahul Gandhi, articulating his stance on Sunday, characterized the exit polls as a manifestation of the “Modi media narrative”.
The forecasts from exit polls conducted on Saturday foretell the continuity of Modi’s incumbency for a third term, envisaging a significant mandate for the BJP-led NDA in the Lok Sabha elections. These predictions also envisage a sweeping victory for the BJP-JD(S) coalition in Karnataka, with no projections foreseeing the Congress securing double-digit representation.
Addressing reporters, Siddaramaiah remarked, “Rahul Gandhi has already voiced his reaction to the exit polls, branding them as a survey orchestrated by Narendra Modi’s media. In Karnataka, we anticipate securing a greater number of seats, potentially reaching 15-20 seats.”
He further endorsed the statement made by Congress President M. Mallikarjun Kharge, projecting a victory of 295 seats for the INDIA bloc nationwide. Notably, the preceding Congress-JD(S) coalition faltered in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, merely securing one seat each. In contrast, the BJP clinched victory in 25 constituencies and facilitated the triumph of an independent candidate supported by the party in Mandya.
