The Special Investigative Unit delving into the allegations of sexual misconduct against the fugitive JDS Member of Parliament, Prajwal Revanna, contemplates the seizure of all his banking assets subsequent to securing judicial consent.
Insiders reveal that Prajwal holds seven banking accounts, all of which are presently under scrutiny for potential freezing. The representative from Hassan, who absconded to Germany in the final weeks of the preceding month, remains evasive. Despite expectations for his return following the apprehension of his father, HD Revanna, in connection to the aforementioned case, Prajwal reportedly nullified his air travel plans.
Prajwal, the Lok Sabha contender representing the BJP-JD(S) coalition, is subject to investigation concerning purported sexual misconduct involving multiple women. On the 1st of May, he communicated via X (formerly Twitter) that he necessitates a week’s grace period before appearing before the Special Investigation Unit, as constituted by the Karnataka government.
Nearly nineteen days post that declaration, Prajwal’s precise location remains undisclosed. The investigative unit is delving into a substantial volume of approximately 3,000 explicit videos and images allegedly linked to him, disseminated widely across social media platforms. His departure from the country promptly followed the conclusion of the electoral proceedings within his jurisdiction last month.
Recent developments witnessed a special tribunal for Members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly issuing an arrest warrant against Prajwal Revanna. Furthermore, the Interpol has issued a blue corner notice against him. Prajwal’s predicament exacerbated following the public exposure of a significant number of explicit videos depicting instances of alleged sexual assault, purportedly involving him. Subsequently, the Karnataka government, acting upon the recommendations of Nagalakshmi Chowdhary, Chairperson of the Karnataka State Commission for Women, established the Special Investigation Unit to probe into Prajwal’s alleged transgressions against women.
