In Bengaluru, the Karnataka BJP expressed disapproval of the Congress government’s policy of appeasement following a social media post by the sibling of an individual implicated in an assault on a store proprietor for purportedly reciting Hanuman Chalisa.
Taking to social media, the Karnataka BJP criticized the “dogmatic factions” mirroring the actions of Congress officials in the region who assert a pattern of “incarceration one day, liberation the next.”
While there was widespread dissent against the assault on Mukesh in Bengaluru’s Nagarathpet for purportedly reciting Hanuman Chalisa, the sibling of Suleiman, one of the accused, shared a message stating: “Today confinement, tomorrow release, and the same cycle thereafter.” “This clearly demonstrates that the ‘dogmatic factions’ in Karnataka believe that regardless of their actions, they will receive protection from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar,” the state BJP remarked.
“The Congress government bears full responsibility for such occurrences. Steps must be taken to prevent the accused from obtaining release from custody anytime soon,” it continued. On Tuesday, the Karnataka Police briefly detained and then released Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje and BJP MLA Suresh Kumar along with numerous Hindu activists and BJP supporters, who were protesting against the assault on a store proprietor for purportedly reciting ‘Hanuman Chalisa’. Tension escalated within the Halasurugate police station jurisdiction following the incident.
Hindu activists and BJP supporters congregated in Nagarathpet and commenced reciting ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ even as police attempted to apprehend Mukesh. BJP MLA Suresh Kumar denounced the police’s actions and questioned why they were detaining the victim? When the state police persisted and attempted to take Mukesh into custody, MLA Suresh Kumar positioned himself in front of the police vehicle and protested.
Nevertheless, the BJP MLA was detained alongside Shobha Karandlaje, who also arrived at the scene to participate in the protest. Hindu activists alleged that instead of apprehending the real culprits, the police detained individuals unconnected to the incident.
