In the heart of New Delhi, a rendezvous between Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, and AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh, with Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, scheduled for Wednesday, has been thwarted by the confines of Tihar Jail.

Sources reveal that the jail administration, citing security concerns, has rebuffed the proposal of this high-profile meeting. Initially slated for 1:00 pm, the time was set, but now the prison authorities must recalibrate the schedule.

Punjab’s CM had penned a letter to the jail administration, earnestly seeking permission to meet the AAP convener. Though a window of opportunity was granted by the jail administration, it was specifically for a Jangala meeting.

This was to be the inaugural encounter between Kejriwal and a party leader since his detainment in Tihar jail. The significance of the meeting for party affairs cannot be overstated.

Meanwhile, amidst these developments, Kejriwal has approached the Supreme Court to contest the state High Court’s ruling that dismissed his plea challenging his arrest by the ED in relation to the Excise policy case.

The High Court, in its verdict on Tuesday, maintained that Kejriwal’s arrest adhered to legal protocol and cannot be deemed “unlawful,” yet AAP remains optimistic about judicial rectitude.
