The party’s jubilant supporters marked the occasion with exuberant celebrations. The impending elections for the positions of Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor, with Kumar as the Presiding Officer, are scheduled to transpire in the coming days.
Antecedent to his induction as the Mayor of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, AAP leader Kuldeep Kumar received an opulent reception. A vibrant red carpet was unfurled by his supporters, and the festive ambiance resonated with the rhythmic beat of drums. Distinguished figures from both the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party, who collectively contended in the Mayoral elections, graced the event. Chandigarh MP Pawan Kumar Bansal and Aam Aadmi Party’s co-incharge Dr. Sunny Ahluwalia extended felicitations to the newly appointed Mayor, presenting him with laddus.
Characterizing the event as a ‘Victory of Democracy,’ Dr. Sunny Ahluwalia remarked, “Today marks the triumph of democracy. The city’s mayor has ascended to this position by ardently championing the truth. Our paramount focus now resides in addressing the populace’s needs. The Aam Aadmi Party-Congress coalition is poised to meet the demands of the people, and we are sanguine about securing victories in the impending elections for Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor.”
Expressing optimism about justice prevailing, AAP leader Kuldeep Kumar articulated, “I harbored hope that justice would prevail. In pursuit of this belief, we approached the Supreme Court with unwavering faith in a just resolution. The ultimate veracity has triumphed,” he asserted, referring to the Supreme Court’s declaration affirming Kuldeep Kumar as the legitimately elected Mayor.
