Dehradun: Congress figurehead Rajiv Maharshi articulated that Priyanka Gandhi’s successful assemblies in Ramnagar and Roorkee have dismantled the BJP’s lofty expectations. He emphasized that these gatherings surpassed anticipations, and the significant turnout in spite of unfavorable conditions has stirred disquiet in the BJP’s ranks.

“The way Priyanka Gandhi tackled state issues and the enthusiastic reception from the attendees have already influenced the electoral outcome,” Maharshi remarked. He further noted Priyanka Gandhi’s impact on the BJP by spotlighting concerns such as inflation, joblessness, paper leaks, and the Ankita murder incident.

“Additionally, her stark critique of the BJP’s chief campaigners regarding the sanctity, esteem, and reverence of Devbhoomi has left them floundering. Her engagement with the local populace has solidified Congress’s triumph across all five Lok Sabha seats in the state, effectively demolishing the BJP’s sandcastles in the wind,” he added.

Maharshi asserted that the BJP’s star campaigners have been sowing falsehoods and amassing votes, but recent rallies have revealed that the public will no longer tolerate the BJP’s mismanagement. He stated that following the successful events in Roorkee and Ramnagar, Congress members’ morale has surged, prompting party activists to ramp up their efforts to deliver Congress’s message of justice to every home.

He highlighted that the BJP has consistently deceived and manipulated people through falsehoods, but the public’s awareness has grown, making the departure of the BJP government inevitable this time around.

Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra delivered a trenchant critique of the BJP, questioning how long the ruling party would continue to shift blame to Congress, which has been out of power for a decade.

While addressing a public gathering in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand, Priyanka Gandhi posed the question, “How long will you (BJP) keep deflecting responsibility onto Congress? Congress hasn’t governed for the past decade. The BJP has held full power for the last 10 years, yet they aim for a greater majority with the slogan ‘400 plus.’ They claim nothing has been achieved in the last 75 years.” She continued, “If nothing was accomplished, how did Uttarakhand cultivate exceptional talents, giving rise to IITs, IIMs, and AIIMSs nationwide? Chandrayaan successfully landed on the moon. Without Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s foundations, could this have been possible?”

Criticizing the BJP for exploiting central agencies, the Congress questioned, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi contends that only he is unblemished while everyone else is corrupt. He extols himself. The BJP’s preoccupation with using the ED, CBI, and IT to recruit leaders and undermine governments has caused them to neglect employment and inflation. When electoral bonds were exposed, the issue of accepting donations and engaging in business surfaced. Now, tell me, who is truly corrupt?”

Uttarakhand’s five Lok Sabha constituencies will vote in a single phase on April 19. The BJP aims to maintain its dominance by winning all five seats, as it did in the 2014 and 2019 general elections.
