Rajkot (Gujarat): Despite persistent demonstrations by the Kshatriya faction, BJP contender Parshottam Rupala has officially submitted his candidacy for the Rajkot Lok Sabha constituency. Preceding the submission of his nomination, Rupala orchestrated a procession through Rajkot, culminating at the Collector’s office under stringent police oversight. He filed his paperwork at a propitious moment.
Rupala’s rally boasted notable participants such as the ex-Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Vala, former Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani, Rajya Sabha MP Rambhai Mokaria, and all the MLAs from the Rajkot assembly district. As part of the rally, Rupala was situated in an open-top vehicle, acknowledging the roadside onlookers.
Appeal to the Kshatriya community: In an interaction with the press, Vijay Rupani voiced his assurance that Narendra Modi would secure a third term as Prime Minister, as the public would lead the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to victory once more. Parshottam Rupala implored the Kshatriya community to back him with enthusiasm in this election and support progressive governance nationwide.
Rupala’s expansive rally: Due to the continuous demonstrations by the Rajput community, who seek Parshottam Rupala’s replacement as the BJP nominee, the police advised journalists, photographers, and videographers to observe the rally from a safe distance. They were also instructed to capture imagery and footage from a respectful range.
Previously, Parshottam Rupala engaged in an all-night discussion with members of the Kshatriya Sanghal Samiti, leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and various ministers, but the dialogue did not produce conclusive results. On Monday, under substantial security measures, Rupala formally submitted his candidacy after visiting the Jagannath Mahadev Temple situated on Dr. Yagnik Road in Rajkot.
