Patna (Bihar): Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav unveiled his party’s ‘Parivartan Patra’ agenda for the upcoming Lok Sabha election in 2024, declaring that if their coalition government assumes power at the Centre, the nation’s youth will be liberated from the shackles of joblessness. He affirmed his party’s dedication to realizing the 24 pledges outlined in their manifesto.
Financial support for women: Tejashwi announced, “Starting this Rakshabandhan, impoverished women will receive a yearly financial aid of Rs 1 lakh. Should the Grand Alliance government be formed at the Centre, employment opportunities for one crore young individuals will be facilitated.” The RJD chief stated that beginning August 15th, their coalition will provide respite to young people facing unemployment.
Employment for one crore young individuals: He noted that once the India Alliance government is established at the Centre, the hiring process for 10 lakh vacant positions will commence on August 15th. He mentioned that across the nation, there are 30 lakh unfilled positions and 70 lakh new roles will be generated, totaling one crore job opportunities.
Critiquing the Modi administration at the Centre, Tejashwi Yadav remarked, “BJP is our adversary. It never engages in discourse on employment. BJP had pledged to furnish 2 crore jobs annually but fell short of its commitment. We are genuine in our actions and follow through on our promises. The government will endeavor to secure jobs for one crore youth in the country.”
Public commitments: Tejashwi Yadav informed journalists that their 24 public promises represent their solemn dedication to the welfare of the people of Bihar and the nation. He noted that in Bihar, they achieved remarkable progress within a span of just 17 months, a feat unparalleled elsewhere. “We successfully provided 5 lakh government jobs, conducted a caste-based census, and worked to expand reservations,” he said.
The RJD leader also mentioned that their party plans to reinstate the Old Pension Scheme and offer gas cylinders for Rs 500 while striving to achieve special state status for Bihar. Additionally, he outlined plans to improve Bihar’s infrastructure by constructing five new airports.
