Rishikesh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a gathering in Uttarakhand on Thursday, delivering a sharp critique against the Congress party, which he accused of neglecting the nation’s welfare.
The Prime Minister lambasted the Congress, highlighting that during its tenure, the military personnel were left without essential bulletproof jackets. Their safety was compromised due to the absence of measures to shield them from hostile fire.
Modi emphasized that his administration ensured the provision of bulletproof vests to protect soldiers’ lives. “Our government’s efforts have led to the production of everything from state-of-the-art rifles to fighter jets and aircraft carriers within our borders,” he stated.
Referring to the Uri surgical strike and Balakot air strike, Modi noted that under the BJP’s over ten-year tenure at the helm, terrorism has been effectively curtailed. He claimed that previous administrations’ poor leadership allowed terrorism to proliferate within India.
“Today, the presence of a robust government lends our national flag the assurance of safety, even in the most perilous battlefields,” Modi added.
Nonetheless, the electoral process for the upcoming elections will commence on April 19, spanning seven phases, with results anticipated on June 4. In the Uttarakhand election, the state will contest its five Lok Sabha seats in a single phase on April 19.
