Tragedy befell two individuals as they met their demise subsequent to a collision between their motorbike and a high-end automobile within the precincts of Kalyaninagar, as conveyed by authorities on the day of the incident.
In response to a grievance lodged by Akib Ramzan Mulla, Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Manoj Patil revealed that legal proceedings under pertinent clauses of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicles Act have been initiated against the culpable juvenile driver.
Detailing the occurrence, ACP Patil disclosed that the mishap unfolded approximately at 2:30 AM when the driver of the automobile, en route back from a soirée during the preceding evening, traversed the Kalyanigar-airport thoroughfare. “The vehicle collided with the MH 14 C Q 3622 two-wheeler from the rear, helmed by a motorist devoid of license plates. Both occupants of the two-wheeler succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The suspect has been apprehended, and an investigation is in progress,” elaborated ACP Manoj Patil.
Law enforcement officials revealed the identities of the deceased as Ashwini Koshta and Anis Ahudia, hailing from the state of Rajasthan. “Following post-mortem examinations, their remains shall be handed over to next of kin upon completion of procedural formalities,” supplemented the authorities. Witnesses attested to the velocity of the automobile, purportedly reaching 200 km/h.
