In Nagpur, Mohan Bhagwat, the head of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, expressed apprehension about Manipur’s persistent turmoil, stressing the imperative nature of addressing the state’s plight. Speaking at the culmination of the ‘Karyakarta Vikas Varg- Dwitiya’ event at Dr. Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan, he emphasized the undesirability of conflicts both within and outside of society.
Bhagwat underscored the necessity of unity among the diverse communities of India, urging a shift from political rhetoric towards addressing the nation’s pressing issues.
Reflecting on Manipur’s recent unrest, Bhagwat lamented the departure from the peace the state experienced a decade ago. He highlighted the sudden resurgence of violence, calling for urgent attention to alleviate the situation.
The RSS chief deprecated unnecessary post-election discussions, advocating instead for a focus on constructive initiatives. He emphasized the importance of consensus between political factions to facilitate progress for the common welfare.
Regarding electoral competition, Bhagwat emphasized the distinction between rivalry and hostility, cautioning against divisive tactics that undermine social cohesion.
Expressing concern over rising incidents of road rage, Bhagwat called for a unified approach to acknowledge and respect the diversity within Indian society, underscoring the enduring legacy of injustice and the need for societal cohesion.
Addressing the influence of foreign ideologies, Bhagwat encouraged embracing the positive aspects of religions such as Islam and Christianity while rejecting notions of exclusivity. He called for a collective embrace of national identity and the rejection of casteism.
Bhagwat urged RSS members to actively promote social harmony and address contemporary challenges, including gun culture, family dynamics, cultural preservation, and environmental conservation.
