The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to initiate the subsequent stage of its “Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se” Lok Sabha election drive on May 13 with a myriad of events, including “Mahila Samvad” and “Trade Town Hall,” across the four Delhi constituencies where it has put forth its candidates, as revealed by party luminary Gopal Rai on Wednesday.
During a media briefing held in this city, Rai, also the AAP’s Delhi state convener, disclosed that the party has hitherto orchestrated a comprehensive door-to-door campaign, alongside various “sankalp sabha” gatherings and processions featuring incarcerated Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s spouse, Sunita Kejriwal.
“In the ambit of the campaign, we traversed doorsteps to protest the detention of Arvind Kejriwal. Subsequently, we are poised to embark upon the ensuing phase of the drive, slated to unfold from May 13 to May 23,” he articulated.
Kejriwal finds himself detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money-laundering affair linked to the purported Delhi liquor imbroglio. In the forthcoming phase of their endeavor, the AAP intends to convene a “Trade Town Hall” gathering in East Delhi, a “Mahila Samvad” session in New Delhi, a “Purvanchal Samagam” assembly in South Delhi, and a “Gramin Panchayat” congregation in West Delhi.
“These constitute four pivotal sectors wielding considerable influence on the electoral landscape. We will inaugurate these four gatherings in these precincts and subsequently extend them to other constituencies. For instance, Mahila Samvad will also transpire in East Delhi. The distinction lies in our commencing from the New Delhi domain,” Rai expounded.
In accordance with a seat-sharing pact between the Congress and the AAP, the former has nominated contenders for three Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi, while the latter is vying for the remaining quartet. Delhi is slated to cast its ballots in the penultimate phase of the seven-stage electoral process on May 25, with the tallying of votes scheduled for June 4.
